![]() “I don’t like the minions because I feel like they use the concept of them too much,” said Harris. Her swaying opinion was mostly negative with a touch of positive. Sophomore Nomika Harris had a different outlook on these animated characters. “I’d also like to see them make minion girls. Such differences in appearances will help distinguish the individual minions, who are currently all yellow blobs in blue-jean overalls. Guliyeva, for example, would like to see Gru and the characters with some type of hair. If a sequel is made for “Minions,” some students already have hopes of what it might contain. In this movie, the minions are secondary characters who help his cause, but in “Minions,” they are the main characters, pre-Gru, who are in search of an evil villain to serve. “Despicable Me” tells the story of an evil villain named Gru who uses children to carry out his plans. ![]() “From the first “Despicable Me” movie, I wanted solely,” she said. She has seen all the “Despicable Me” movies and hopes to see a sequel to “Minions” although it is unknown if the creators will be making one. ![]() Senior Diana Guliyeva expressed her love for minions by saying, “They are probably the best animated characters I’ve ever watched.” Until more information is revealed, we accept this as canon. From their first appearance in “Despicable Me” to their very own major motion picture, the minions have generated mixed opinions among students at MHS. *Whether or not this factoid will be carried over into the Minions feature film remains to be seen. Bob’s eye color is, perhaps, the most noticeable deviation (orange and green-ish), although even then his green eye might be more accurately described as hazel. As it is, their eye color ranges anywhere from a light orange-ish hue to deep reddish-orange or reddish-brown. In regards to why we never see any Minions with eyes any other color than orange/hazel/brown, this may be for the sake of simplicity, although it should be taken into account that all Minions, according to the “Orientation Day” short on the first Despicable Me DVD, originate from a single strand of mutated DNA*, and so are similar to one another in many ways, with only slight differentiations (height, hair type, and eye number). Although Kevin, Stuart, and Bob have height differences, because they still look quite similar to one another it helps to give each character a unique feature that further helps the audience to separate one from the other (e.g., Stuart has a bit of a temper and seems to love bananas a bit more than his two counterparts, whereas Bob is often seen carrying around his teddy bear and is the only Minion with differently-colored eyes). We suspect that Bob, in particular, is heterochromic (has two differently-colored eyes) to help further distinguish him from the other two main Minions in the film.
